Not only is Chriddy not the young singer’s real name, the star-in-the-making is hardly a fresh face straight off the wannabe-celebrity production line. He’s a fame-hungry model who is on the books of a number of management agencies; a career path that has not been acknowledged on the show at any time.
Gold Coast native “Chriddy”, 26, is actually Chris Black. When the Daily Telegraph’s Sydney Confidential contacted Nine about the name change, they denied any deception.
‘Chriddy is the name he auditioned with, as it’s his nickname,’ said a representative. ‘He is a part-time model, this wasn’t the focus of his story as it’s not his goal in life.’
“Chriddy” is known to be on the books of Reel Models, SASS Management and N Model Management.

Far from being a total unknown, he has a strong history on Instagram, with a steady stream of pouting model shots.
This isn’t the first eyebrow-raising incident involving “Chriddy”
Aussie star Delta Goodrem was slammed on social media for allegedly ‘cheating’ by saving him at the last second. She initially voted to keep “Chriddy” in the contest, but changed her mind and tried to used her single save Guy Sebastian’s performer Jesse Teinaki.
Delta’s move was swiftly called out by Boy George and Kelly Rowland, who shouted: “Whoa – hold on a minute!”
Boy George declared: “That’s cheating. What’s going on? Give me strength!”
