Australian TV viewers are changing channel from The Voice over what audiences are calling “unfair advantage”, as experienced All Stars continue to send amateur contestants home in the knockout rounds.

Fans of the once popular series have accused producers of creating an “uneven playing field”, Daily Mail Australia reports, while social media users continue to blast judge Delta Goodrem for repeated cheating.

Voice coach Guy Sebastian has also come under fire for favouritism after he chose his friend Chynna Taylor – who he knows from the X Factor –  to win the knockout round over first time hopeful Conor Smith.

Twitter erupted over the alleged lack of professionalism, with one user writing: “Of course Guy saved his friend. #FavouritismMuch. You’re supposed to judge on tonight’s performance, Guy.”

Tuesday night’s episode saw two more All Stars – season five trio The Koi Boys and last year’s Madi Krstevski – sail through to the wildcard stage, prompting critics to suggest former contestants should have their own show instead to ensure a level playing field.

“So basically – all the All Stars are just going through? Why didn’t they just do an All Star season then? #TheVoiceAU,” one unimpressed person tweeted.

The criticism is the latest in a long line of controversies for the embattled Nine Network show as viewers continue to turn off in their droves after the shock elimination of former Hi-5 star Nathan Foley on Monday night.

The highly regarded Voice contestant wowed fans and judges alike during his blind audition last week, but the 39-year-old children’s entertainer found his luck ran out much sooner than expected when he was axed in the first knockout stage.

Adding fuel to the fire, Nathan lost out to All Star contestants Sheldon Riley and Luke Zanc who were saved by Delta Goodrem and Kelly Rowland respectively.
