The Year 4 teacher at Bowen State School gave each of her students the gift hoping it would help them feel welcome and happy.
The school’s acting principal Jemille Malouf posted the poem to the school’s Facebook page and explained: ‘We don’t know, a lot of the time, what’s going on in children’s lives at home.
‘But what we can do is create an environment when they’re at school that they feel safe and secure and that they have someone that they trust that they can come to.’
