When Wendy Cruz-Chan’s son was stillborn she was devastated but the grieving mum was determined that something good would come out of the loss.
Three days after losing her son Killian, the lactation consultant began pumping her breastmilk to babies in need.
The New Yorker set a goal of reaching 59 litres (2000 ounces).
‘I had pumped and donated 2038 ounces of my breastmilk to 6 babies,’ she wrote on Facebook. ‘Now it’s time to end my lactation journey and concentrate on myself as I get my body ready for the next pregnancy.’
While the process was confronting she says giving to other babies helped her heal and deal with her grief.
