Audio has revealed a mother laughing while reporting her two-year-old daughter missing.
A Victorian court has heard Peta-Ann Francis admitted to lying about when she last saw her daughter after reporting her missing on August 25, 2015, the Daily Mail reports.
‘I put her down at 11 o’clock for a sleep because she had an early lunch,’ she told the operator.
‘She was up at four this morning so tryin’ to get her to have a longer sleep this afternoon and I just went and got my kids from school ’cause I’m a single mum you know, got to get the older ones first,’ she said, giggling.
The little girl’s body was found in the roof of her Mildura home.
Francis’s ex-boyfriend John Clifford Torney, 32, is currently on trial for the murder.
Francis told the trial ‘having the cops at my house makes me nervous’.
‘It’s a nervous smirk that I have.’
