These are the two children who survived the Thunder River Rapids ride disaster, which claimed the lives of four people, including their mothers.
Ebony Godchil, 12, and Kieran Low, 10, managed to scramble from the ride virtually unscathed, but were confronted with the harrowing scene of emergency services pulling their bodies of their mums, Kate Goodchild and Cindy Low, from the water.
‘It is almost a miracle that anybody came out of that,’ Police Assistant Commissioner Brian Codd said after viewing CCTV footage of the tragedy. Sadly, Kate’s brother Luke Dorsett and his partner Roozi Araghi were also killed on the ride.
