Matt and Melissa Graves said they were “devastated” by their son’s death.

“Words cannot describe the shock and grief our family is experiencing over the loss of our son. We are devastated and ask for privacy during this extremely difficult time. To all of the local authorities and staff who worked tirelessly these past 24 hours, we express our deepest gratitude,” the Graves family said in a statement on Thursday, June 16, according to ABC News.

Divers found the toddler’s body after a 16-hour search near the Magic Kingdom theme park, one of the world’s most popular tourist spots.

The family also said “they do appreciate all of the prayers that have gone forward to allow those of us working to do our jobs to recover their son so that they can move forward at this time with a proper burial,” according to Demings.
