There’s a reason why some parents choose to keep their baby name a secret: for fear of being judged.
However, doing just that, a Reddit thread created last year asked, ‘What is the worst baby name you’ve heard recently?’
With over 600 comments, there was a common theme: creative spelling.
‘Parents who do the whole ‘creative spelling’ thing,’ wrote one person in the comments section. ‘In almost all interactions, it doesn’t matter how it’s spelt because you’re just saying the name.
‘But then when it does matter, it’s a hassle to all involved, with no benefit whatsoever.’
Below is a list of the worst baby names, according to Reddit users.
- Mhavryck (pronounced Maverick)
