Sophie Delezio tells: ‘I’m going to be in a movie’

Sophie Delezio’s life changed forever when a car smashed into her daycare centre leaving her with third-degree burns to 85 per cent of her body. Now the 15-year-old has big plans for the future.

Sophie revealed to The Daily Edition she will appear in the feature film Dance Academy: The Comeback!

“It was really cool,” she said.

“It’s a feature film and I’m really excited it was a great day filming.”

She added, “I’ve done drama for years now I’ve always loved it. I’ve been asking mum for a while now to get an agent.”

The teen also said she hopes to see more disabled people in films in the future.

“You see all these famous actors playing disabled people but they are completely abled bodied and I cant think of any famous Australian disabled actors,” she said.

“Just because they can’t run, doesn’t mean they can’t act.”

Continuing to study acting up until her HSC years, now 22, the unstoppable woman now has her sights set on journalism. Speaking to The Australian Women’s Weekly regarding her recent engagement to long-time partner, Joseph Salerno, it’s clear that once she has her mind on something, she lets nothing stand in her way.
