Having difficulty focusing on her exams and feeling inexplicably confused, Raffy (Olivia Deeble) has been far from herself.
“Raffy has been forgetting things and having trouble concentrating on her schoolwork,” says Olivia.
But we soon see this is something far more serious than a simple bout of absent-mindedness. Raffy, who has also been experiencing severe headaches, suddenly begins to slur her words on the pier in front of a horrified Ryder (Lukas Radovich), before collapsing to the ground. She’s having a seizure!
“The first thing that runs through Ryder’s mind is panic for his friend’s safety,” says Lukas. “To Ryder, his friends mean everything, so to see Raffy in distress is a terrifying experience.”
After a panicked Ryder screams for help, Raffy is rushed to the hospital. With a frantic Marilyn (Emily Symons), John (Shane Withington) and Leah (Ada Nicodemou) soon also by her side and anxiously awaiting news, Raffy undergoes tests.
“Raffy is in the hospital and no-one knows what’s wrong withher,” says Olivia. ‘It’s very frightening.’
Will the teen receive a diagnosis that could turn the rest of her life upside down?
