Beach Warriors, QLD.
These volleyball-mad sisters are teaming up with an Olympic water polo player to knock the competition out of the water. Jordan (left), 28, and Justine (right), 31, enlisted the help of Rhys, 30, who represented Australia in both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.
Donut Squad, WA.
This team is out to prove not all policemen drink coffee and eat doughnuts. Police officer David (right), 27, is engaged to Christine, 26, while pal David (left), 32 – the best cop of the group – is the team’s motivator.
Dream Team, WA.
Brothers Ale (right), 24, and Lewis (left), 26, are both stunt dirt bike riders. They’re joined by their best mate Simon, 26, who moonlights as a stripper. These three are trained to be in the best physical condition possible, but will it be enough.
Townsville Underdogs, QLD.
Personal trainer and underdog Hayley, 27, is taking on the obstacle course with her fiance Max (left), 37, and his brother Jonothan (right), 34. Max suffered from reactive arthritis, but he has overcome the odds to compete with his bride-to-be.
Blood Bond, VIC.
These siblings are very protective of one another and will do whatever it takes. For Leigh (left), 36, Sarah, 29, and Dean (right), 32, overcoming adversity runs in their blood. Leigh saved his little brother from drowning when he was five.
Family Ties, SA.
High school sweethearts, Jamie, 22, and Sean (left), 26, have been together for eight years. Sean counts Jamie’s little brother, Sam (right), 18, as part of the family and their strong bond is sure to work in their favour. Sam is Australian Spartan’s youngest competitor.
The O Brothers, WA.
They might be Spartan rookies, but brothers Isaac (left), 27, Joel (right), 20, and Lucas, 30, think they have got what it takes to reach the top. Isaac suffered a brain haematoma following a skating accident years ago, but he’s not letting it hold him back.
Hen’s Party, TAS.
F45 trainers Lou (left), 28, and her sister Beck (right), 30, roped in one of their students Ben, 32, to audition with them. The date of the fitness test for the show happened to be on Lou’s hen’s weekend, which is why they chose their team name.
Spartainious, QLD.
Brothers Justin (left), 24, and Sonny (right), 33, come from a family of eight boys, but they are teaming up with ‘adopted sister’ Maartje, 34, who moved from Holland five years ago. The brothers want to dedicate the race to their brother and father who they lost two years ago.
Two Badgers, One Anchor, QLD.
Siblings Jessica (left), 31, and Andrew, 30, are competing with childhood friend Adam (right), 33. Jessica is an experienced racer, having qualified for the Spartan World Championships in 2015. But will it be enough to get her team to the end?
