Yellow Wiggle star Emma Watkins has given a candid interview about her future after her split with estranged husband Lachlan Gillespie.
The 29-year-old says that kids are on the cards but her endometriosis diagnosis might make it difficult.

“All of my friends have children but I’m thinking I’ve still got a lot to do,” she told the publication. “I mean, how hard is it for people to have babies now? The decline in fertility is so big at the moment, which is awful. I would actually have to try quite hard and I know with the endo I probably wouldn’t be able to plan it out anyway. I’ve got a lot of things I want to do first.”
When questioned about rumours Gillespie – also known as Purple Wiggle – is believed to have ‘found love’ with The Australian Ballet’s Dana Stephensen, Emma says she supports whatever decision he makes.
Back in 2018, the children’s entertainer told The Daily Telegraph she was behind the decision for the couple to end their marriage, claiming they were both unhappy.
Watkins added the couple parted ways during a very challenging year that saw her undergo several health scares, including surgery for endometriosis and a leukaemia scare.
Following her endometriosis surgery, the Daily Telegraph reports Emma had to undergo a blood transfusion and at one point, she faced the possibility that she might have leukaemia.
‘It has been a weird time for us. I think we just realised that we were meant to be best friends,’ she told the publication.
‘I wanted to make the decision to separate…I am very independent and my mum keeps telling me that no one is going to be able to tell me what to do.’
Continuing, Emma said, ‘We are not really cranky at each other, we just realised that our situation had changed…probably more from me, than from him.’
Emma and Lachy announced their split in August, 2018.
