Steely Dan guitarist Walter Becker dies aged 67

His cause of death has yet to be reported.

Walter Becker, guitarist and co-founder of rock band Steely Dan, has tragically died at the age of 67.

The news was announced on his official website but no cause of cause was revealed.

Steely Dan shot to fame in the 70s with a string of hit singles, including Reelin’ in the Years, Do It Again, Rikki Don’t Lose That Number and Deacon Blues.

His longtime bandmate Donald Fagen wrote an emotional tribute about Becker.

‘Walter Becker was my friend, my writing partner and my bandmate since we met as students at Bard College in 1967,’ he shared.

‘He was smart as a whip, an excellent guitarist and a great songwriter. He was cynical about human nature, including his own, and hysterically funny.’

Fans of the legendary guitarist paid tribute to the star on social media.
