Eric Bana/Con Petropoulous
The biggest star to come out of the true battler film, Eric has come along way since playing the much-loved amateur boxer.
His big break came in 2001’a Black Hawk Down and he has since gone on to star in Chopper, Hulk, Troy and The Time Traveler’s Wife amongst others.
Speaking of the role that gave him his big break, Eric said to News.com.au: ‘To this day it was the funniest table reading of a script I’ve ever been a part of.’
‘It wasn’t a shock that it turned into such a much-loved comedy. I think it holds up pretty well today.’
Sophie Lee/Tracey Petropoulous
Since playing Eric’s wife in the hit film, Sophie has gone on to star in The Flying Doctors and Muriel’s Wedding, with her last known acting appearance in 2014 for Puberty Blues.
Michael Caton/Darryl Kerrigan
Actor Michael Caton, now 73, had already been a screen star for almost 30 years when he appeared in The Castle and is still going strong today, starring in TV series All Saints and Packed to the Rafters, films The Interview in 1998 and Last Cab to Darwin in 2015 and hosting TV shows Hot Property and Hot Auctions.
Tiriel Mora/Dennis Denuto
After playing family lawyer, Dennis, the actor was convicted of assaulting his wife in 2012.
However, that doesn’t appear to have affected his acting career, having gone on to star in V shows All Saints, Janet King and Underbelly, appearing in films King Kong and Queen Of The Damned, as well as voicing a children’s character in the flick Happy Feet.
Wayne Hope/Wayne Kerrigan
The actor, who played the black sheep of the family went on to found production company Gristmill with wife, Robyn Butler.
He has also guest-starred and produced Little Lunch.
Anthony Simcoe/Steve Kerrigan
Anthony last acted in the 2014 British film The Inbetweeners 2 in 2014, but is currently working primarily as a freelance corporate trainer.
Stephen Curry/Dale Kerrigan
The actor – who played the youngest family member and narrator – says he’s still recognised by fans to this date, and told News.com.au he believed The Castle is still so loved because it has heart.
Anne Tenney/Sal Kerrigan
The now 63-year-old actress appeared on TV series’ Water Rats, All Saints, Always Greener and Headland after playing the mother in The Castle.
Most recently she starred in the 2016 play Let’s Talk About You.
