Triple M’s Grill Team spent $34,160 on a car at Russell Crowe’s divorce auction over the weekend, and the breakfast team have claimed to have found one of the Australian actors old phones inside the vehicle.
After successfully bidding on the 2001 Mercedes-Benz S500 Saloon at the Gladiator star’s divorce auction, the radio presenters have posted a video to Facebook with their cheeky find.
In the video, host Emma Freedman is shown finding Russell’s alleged phone, and reading one of the ‘very interesting’ text messages left behind.
‘It does have that nice, new car German look and feel,’ Freedman tells the camera as she climbs into the drivers’ seat.
‘Oh, and there’s an old phone?’ she says as looking inquisitively into the storage area.
Emma then pulls out an old black Nokia. She is then shown scrolling through the phone’s messages, reading allowed: ‘I’m going to s***t.’
A Triple M spokesperson later told Daily Mail, ‘Russell hasn’t deleted some of the private text messages on his old mobile, some of which are very ‘interesting’.’
Crowe’s The Art Of Divorce auction took place in Sydney on April 7th – the day of his wedding anniversary to ex-wife Danielle Spencer.
Russell earned a whopping $3.7 million from the items he auction off.
