Actor Blake Heron, who found fame playing Marty Preston in the 1996 classic film Shiloh, has been found dead aged just 35.
The former child star was found at his Los Angeles home by his girlfriend Chanel Panagiotolpoulos yesterday TMZ reports.
While the cause of the actors death has not been officially confirmed, it was claimed that Blake had been suffering from the flu for the past few days.
According to TMZ, the star had recently checked out of rehab for a struggle with heroin addiction.
His Instagram account showed he had also just returned from a trip to Paris, France with his make-up artist girlfriend.
‘Our last night in Paris. We had a rad dinner cruise on the Seine River to cap our week off,’ Blake captioned his last social media post.
He had also recently starred in the 2017 film A Thousand Junkies, in which he played a heroin addict.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department stated that a call came in around 7:05 a.m. regarding an unidentified man who was not breathing. Blake’s rep confirmed his passing to multiple outlets.
TMZ reports that responders did not find illegal drugs or evidence that alcohol had been consumed. Prescriptions for the flu were reportedly found.
After Shiloh, Heron landed smaller roles in film and television projects including We Were Soldiers, Boston Public and 11:14.
Speaking about his role in A Thousand Junkies, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and his own struggles with addiction, Blake said: “I started doing drugs when I was about 12, typical smoking weed at first and drinking and what not.
“It quickly progressed … and I lost everything. I lost my career, I lost all of my money, I lost possessions, and most importantly, I lost myself. I felt like I lost my soul.”
