Brad and Tallena were the controversial standouts on Seven Year Switch, which followed their roller-coaster ride from volatile duo to apparent domestic bliss.
But a close friend of Brad’s has revealed a sinister past, saying Brad faked being diagnosed with cancer. Andrew Moore, who worked on a building site with Brad, has spoken out to warn Tallena about her husband’s secrets.
In 2006, Brad, who went by the name Doug at the time, told Andrew he had oesophagus cancer. Andrew was devastated.
Three months went by and Andrew claims to have seen his friend smoking daily – which led him to question the story.
Andrew explains: ‘He said: ‘If anyone asks about the cancer, can you tell them you drove me to my treatment and waited with me at the hospital.’
Andrew later received a text from a stranger urging him to confront Brad about the cancer.
‘I just asked him: ‘Why isn’t your hair falling out? Why aren’t you taking medication? How can you party every weekend, drink, smoke and take drugs?’ Andrew recalls, adding that Brad became defensive and made excuses about a low dose of medication.
When New Idea asked Brad about Andrew’s allegations, he said: ‘I think he’s pulling your leg. I never claimed to have had cancer. That’s ridiculous. I don’t confide in anybody – as [Seven Year Switch] showed, not even in my partner.
Andrew says: ‘Tallena should run in the other direction.’
