Claudine De Niro, Robert De Niro’s daughter-in-law, has been accused of racial discrimination against her one-time nanny.
In shocking court documents obtained by Daily Mail, Linda Williams has accused the Oscar winner’s daughter-in-law of creating a ‘hostile work environment’ which was ‘permeated with intimidation, ridicule and insult.’
According to Williams, who was employed in the De Niro’s Manhattan household in 2014, Claudine told her, ‘I wouldn’t have hired you if your were black.’
Claudine was married to Raphael De Niro, who is the child of Robert De Niro and Diahnne Abbott, and they share three children – nine-year-old Nicholas, eight-year-old Alexandria and six-year-old Ella Rose.
It’s not the first time Claudine has come under fire for treatment toward her employees. The real-estate agent was already being sued by another former domestic worker, Thais Dilazary, who filed suit six months ago, claiming the mother had withheld wages and failed to pay her overtime despite working close to 60 hours a week.
The Bell Family Employment Agency, the employment agency used by the De Niro family, allegedly noted that Claudine ‘has a high rate of [staff] turnover due to the treatment of employees, including nannies, housekeepers and domestic workers.’
