Natalie Imbruglia’s shock admission

She’s made a controversial confession ahead of her 'First Contact' appearance

Before filming SBS documentary, First Contact, Natalie Imbruglia has admitted she’s never spoken to an Indigenous Australian before.

‘It is one thing to know that it happened, but to sit there with people that experienced it was a lot,’ she told The Daily Telegraph of her thoughts on the controversial documentary.

‘Some of them were still struggling with the trauma but so many of them were looking to the future. I found that incredibly inspiring.’

Natalie then went on to reveal that she had never had a conversation with an aboriginal person prior to the show.

‘I can count on one hand the times I’ve seen them in the distance on the street,’ the 41-year-old singer revealed.

Natalie is one of six celebrities appearing on the series, which looks at what life is really like in ‘Aboriginal Australia’.

The program has already sparked fierce debate after a promotional clip saw Nicki Wendt – one of the five other participants admitting that she is ‘scared’ of Indigenous Australians.

‘All I know is that if I’m in a mall and there’s 30 black guys and me, I’m frightened,’ she said.
