Last night’s Married At First Sight season finale was full of shock revelations, but one of the worst things we had to re-witness was the vile behaviour of Sam Ball throughout his time on the show, including his fat-shaming of ‘wife’ Elizabeth.
His words shocked the audience and cast members alike, with the struggling actor being branded a ‘snake’ and a ‘coward’ by fans of the show.
LISTEN! The moment MAFS Elizabeth SLAMS husband Sam for fat shaming!
Appearing on Nova 96.9 this morning, Elizabeth opened up about Sam and his frankly abhorrent behaviour, including how she felt being fat-shamed.
When the radio host mentioned that Sam managed to fool just about everyone through his ‘charm’, Lizzie took the moment to point out his manipulative behaviour.
“He fooled everybody, through the whole entire filming he fooled everybody.”
Lizzie continued: “The whole time [sic] I’m there biting my tongue, what he’s doing is very snake-like and horrible.”
Lizzie then revealed she first heard about her groom fat-shaming her two weeks prior to filming the final episode.
“So two weeks prior to the reunion being filmed we all started our interviews. So it was then someone who was interviewing me [sic] told me ‘what did you think when he basically shamed your weight’, and I was like what?”
Lizzie then explained that not confronting Sam at the dinner party was at the behest of the producers, who were trying to convince Sam to appear in the finale and were worried confrontation would scare him away.
“So I was told that he didn’t even really want to come to the dinner party,
“I was not surprised that he didn’t show up because he’s a weasel and he wants everybody to love him.”
Queen Lizzie being the beautiful person she is, went on to discuss why Sam’s gross commentary on her weight is unacceptable: “Basically at the dinner party I was ready to just go in on him and say ‘well how can you do that?’ Not in an aggressive manner, but just in a manner that says that’s not right, to put that out there.
“Not only about me, but what message does that say to all the women out there, not even women but men as well.”
AMEN!
