Married at First Sight star Lauren Huntriss has made headlines for slamming the show’s producers.
The 32-year-old makeup artist appeared on the Kyle and Jackie O Show and claims she was made to look like a ‘sex freak’ and ‘nympho’ thanks to some clever editing.
‘I felt disgusted (when I first saw the edited version) and I was so upset. Then I received so much hate,’ she said in tears.
‘For them to paint me as this nympho, it was disgusting. I feel so let down.’
The makeup artist also discussed ‘husband’ Matt Bennett’s mental state while on the show.
Lauren says Matt was crippled with anxiety and would say some things to her off camera that would worry her.
“One of those that really stuck in my mind, on more than one occasion he actually said, ‘Loz, I don’t think I fit in on this earth. I believe I was abducted by aliens, and they’ve done something to my brain. Because my brain’s been rewired differently; my brain hasn’t been the same since I was 15.’ And it really concerned me.”
She continued: “I’ve suffered anxiety for, like, the last six years, I just feel like certain people with these mental health issues shouldn’t be put on a show like this. Even though it was our choice in the end, surely there’s a duty of care to say, you know what, I don’t think this person is going to cope … I’m, like, a mess.”
