Former Olympic swimmer Lisa Curry is a household name in Australian sports known for her flawless figure and consistent dedication to fitness.
But even A-list athletes struggle with body image as the three-time Olympian tries to remind fans by opening up about her own issues with weight and body positivity.
In an interview with 9Honey the TV personality admitted she has been living with hormonal imbalances, “monthly” mood swings and weight fluctuations for years.
“I’m not the same body shape as I used to be, and it’s frustrating at times but that’s the choice I’m making,” she said, explaining she now strives to be generally healthy instead of aiming for a specific number on the scales.
Speaking candidly about her personality shifts, the age-defying athlete referred to herself as a “revolting person” when she experienced a mood swing and revealed she “could have punched a hole in the wall and screamed for no reason”.
Lisa, who’s son is model Jett Kenny, is active on Instagram and regularly shares videos of her home workouts.
The fit 56-year-old has her own exercise programme KiSS which encourages adherents to train as athletes.
