The former Australian TV star and ex girlfriend of Michael’s has revealed that she fled to America shortly after his death in 1997 in order to gain some anonymity.
‘When you are in the midst of dealing with that grief… to experience that on top of it was just really overwhelming and I didn’t really know what to do with that, she explains.
Kym wasn’t able to process her grief until a year later whilst performing a Shakespeare play. She broke down performing a passage in Richard III on hanging, and again practicing strangulation.
A whole wave of grief came over me and I started sobbing hysterically for 10 minutes,’ she told New Idea in 1998.
