Dedicated wife Kerri-Anne Kennerley has been at her husband’s hospital bedside as he recovers from the shock spinal cord injury.

John has been on a ventilator since the incident but continues to defy doctors with ‘small miracles’ as Kerri-Anne describes them.

Doctors had tried to remove the ventilator several times over the past 3 months but when they finally did, John was ‘scared,’ she recalls.

The 62-year-old television personality says: ‘It was the most profound sense of relief I have ever felt. That was the moment when I felt he’d really come back to me’

Once he was discharged from Intensive Care, Kerri-Anne took to Instagram in the afternoon with a photo of him on a hospital gurney surrounded by medical staff, thanking them for their attention.

‘After 6 and half weeks in Intensive Care John is moving to the spinal unit,’ she wrote in the caption.

Kerri-Anne has been seen heading to Sydney’s Prince Of Wales Hospital in Randwick where she continues to visit him daily.

We wish John all the best with his recovery.
