Kelly Clarkson is struggling to shed the weight she has gained after the birth of her second child, according to a report in US magazine Star, and is now facing a potential health crisis.
The 34-year-old country singer is reportedly “at her heaviest yet” at nearly 200 pounds (91 kilograms), according to the publication.
“She’s a down-home Texas girl who loves comfort food, and it’s hard to stick to a diet when there are four kids in the house who are always hungry,” a source tells Star.
Kelly shares daughter River Rose, 2, and new son Remington Alexander, 8 months, with husband Brandon Blackstock, and then there are his two children from a previous marriage, daughter Savannah, 14, and son Seth, 10.
Kelly sensibly realises she won’t ever be that slender girl she was back when she won ‘American Idol’ in 2002. And while no one wants her to be skinny, they do want her to be healthy.
“Everybody calls me fat all the time… I’ve never been Gisele Bundchen,” Kelly said while pregnant with her first child River Rose.
Kelly’s caring husband Brandon, who is also her manager, supports her no matter what she looks like – but friends and family are hoping she will look after her health and find a happy medium.
“Brandon wants what she wants,” Star’s source says. “He knows she’s not happy being fat.”
Once the holiday and New Year’s festivities are over, “they’re going to try to get fit together.”
