Joel Creasey tells: ‘Chrissie’s going to be my surrogate!’

The former I’m A Celeb besties reveal their surprising baby news

Joel Creasey and Chrissie Swan are having a baby!

Well, sort of… The 25-year-old stand-up comedian, who is currently wowing audiences with his The Crown Prince Of Comedy Tour, admits he’s talked to his bestie about the possibility – and neither party has ruled it out.

‘I think Chrissie would happily be my surrogate. I feel like we might have discussed it even!’ Joel tells New Idea. ‘Yeah, I think she would. She loves having kids.’

Taking it one step further, however, Joel admits they might skip the whole surrogacy thing and just have a baby together!

‘Literally, we have thought about running away and getting married – I think it would just be easier. She makes me happier than any man ever has. I’m straight for Chrissie Swan!’ he declares, adding: ‘Our child would be just the most evil human that ever walked this earth, but I think they’d be funny at least!’

Having met as contestants on last year’s inaugural local version of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! the pair formed a somewhat surprising bond.

So much so that they just got back from a fun holiday in Bali – with Joel tagging along with Chrissie and her brood.

‘When we were on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year, we talked about planning a holiday to Bali together. And then we made it happen, more than a year-and-a-half later! It was amazing. I’d never been before and she goes all the time, so she was a great tour guide,’ Joel beams.

Not even a family vacay with the 42-year-old’s three young kids with long-time partner Chris Saville – Leo, Kit and Peggy – was enough to put Joel off having a family of his own.

‘I want to have kids of my own, but only for the publicity I’d get out of it – then I want to hand them back!’ the comic deadpans. ‘I kind of want to do an Angelina Jolie and adopt like 17 African children – although I feel like Angelina’s kind of covered that, so I might go somewhere a little more unusual, like New Zealand or something.

‘But no, Chrissie’s kids are gorgeous. I live in such an adult world in stand-up and I don’t have any children in my life, so it was nice getting to hang out with her kids, and they’re so gorgeous and fun and hilarious.’

So does that mean the Great Australian Spelling Bee co-host is off-limits when it comes to providing fodder for Joel’s comedy shows?

‘Chrissie Swan is fair game!’ he declares. ‘I would slam her if it came to it. But she’s pretty lucky – she’s very smart and she’s very self-aware. It’s fun to make fun of people who aren’t self-aware and don’t know how ridiculous they are. But I do love ribbing her in person and giving her a hard time. She’s honestly one of the best people I’ve ever met.’

With The Crown Prince Of Comedy Tour rolling into Sydney on Thursday night, Joel was only too happy to give New Idea a preview of what to expect.

‘It’s just an hour of gossip with a friend. A lot of comedians do these very political shows, these very deep shows – mine is neither of those things. You’ll probably leave dumber if anything!’ he admits. ‘But you will leave, I think, having had a laugh.

‘It’s just me, slamming every Australian celebrity that’s ever drawn breath. I feel like celebrities have it too good in Australia, and someone’s got to hold them to account. If you wanna be on TV, if you’re going to walk a red carpet and happily take a gift bag and happily take the validation of people on Instagram and go on a #Balibible all-expenses-paid holiday – like any former Bachelor contestant – you should also get the bad stuff!’ he continues. ‘And the bad stuff is sassy gay comedians like myself teasing you on stage!’

Celebrities, you’ve been warned!
