No-one could blame Ben (Rohan Nichol) for struggling to cope since he was framed for drug trafficking. But could the Summer Bay dad’s downward spiral cost him the one thing he holds most precious – his marriage to his beloved wife Maggie (Kestie Morassi)?

In this week’s episodes, an increasingly despondent Ben heads to Salt, where he wastes no time attempting to drown his sorrows. When a concerned Maggie tries to contact her husband, he ignores her calls as he continues to drink heavily at the bar.
When Ben finally heads home for the night – driven by an insistent Alf (Ray Meagher) – he’s in anything but a state to talk to his wife.
The next morning, suffering the hangover from hell, Ben feels worse still when he overhears Maggie discussing the possible sale of the Pier complex to fund his defence. “The Pier complex was a great achievement for Ben and the thought of now having to let it go is certainly not what was supposed to happen as far as he’s concerned,” says Rohan.
Are Ben and Maggie willing to sacrifice their nest egg for Ben’s freedom or will the idea alone drive an even bigger wedge between them?
