Jessica Simpson’s father Joe has confirmed he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Having undergone surgery after being diagnosed two months ago, a rep for Joe has confirmed the operation went well.
Having moved on from being a manager to daughters Jessica and Ashlee, Joe is now back at work in his new career as a photographer and is heading to Japan to work on a number of projects.
‘He’s feeling great now and is optimistic,’ a source tells People magazine. ‘He’s felt so much love and support from his family and friends.’
Indeed, his daughters appear to have rallied around their dad in recent times after a tumultuous few years which saw him split from his wife Tina amid gay rumours, with both girls attending his first ever photography exhibition in LA earlier this year.
‘There is something about taking pictures that makes me happy, and it has always been a hobby for me,’ says Joe.
