Owen Wilson’s friends are reportedly deeply worried about him following the recent death of his beloved father.
Acclaimed TV mogul Robert Wilson – father to the Wedding Crashers star and his actor brother Luke – died on May 5 after a longtime battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
According to The National Enquirer, Owen is having an extremely hard time coming to terms with the bereavement.
“Owen is devastated over his dad’s death,” the publication quoted a source as saying, adding: “He meant the world to him!”
The actor has long been reported to be emotionally fragile. He was reportedly rushed to hospital in 2007, after allegedly overdosing on prescription pills and cutting his wrists.
That shocking incident followed the demise of his romance with then-girlfriend Kate Hudson.
The Enquirer claims there were heightened fears for his mental health after he started boozing again the following year.
Citing their insider, the publication added: “Now the loss of his father has sparked new fears for the comedian.”
The source then concluded: “We all need to keep an eye on him.”
