Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are headed for a split and her jealousy over his La La Land co-star is one of the reasons, according to a sensational report today in US magazine Star.
The actress, 43, was noticeably absent at The Oscars on Feb. 26 and sources tell the publication the couple had a big fight the day before the ceremony.
Eva reportedly refused Ryan’s pleas to attend because she’s seen how close he’s become with Emma. (Ryan’s sister, Mandi Gosling, accompanied him to awards show.)
“Ryan desperately wanted Eva by his side,” the source tells Star. “He told her how bad it looked when she wasn’t there when he won his Golden Globe in January and that he was tired of making excuses for her.
“Ryan said that if she wasn’t going to support him on the biggest night of his career, then when would she ever? Eva snapped back that he shouldn’t be worried, because Emma would be there for him.”
Adds the source: “She’s ready to call it quits on their relationship.”
Ryan, 36, and Emma, 28, have had great chemistry in three films: ‘Crazy, Stupid, Love’ in 2011, ‘Gangster Squad’ in 2013 and now ‘La La Land.’
Star’s source says they have a strong bond, adding: “He’s a happy-go-lucky guy, and Emma is fun, outgoing and open – the exact opposite of Eva.”
Meanwhile, Eva’s close to walking away from the relationship, according to Star.
“Some in their circle are convinced that she’s already spoken to a lawyer,” says the source.
Eva and Ryan have two daughters, Esmeralda, who arrived in 2014, and Amada, born last April.
