Daytime TV without Ellen DeGeneres is scarcely worth thinking about, but, sadly, that day is coming – with the star today conceding she is preparing for the inevitable.

Following recent comments by her wife Portia de Rossi that Ellen needs to move on to doing new things, the star says that she knows she will have to quit.
‘I hope I know when. [Maybe] when people kind of are tired of me, and I think I’ll sense that,’ Ellen told Entertainment Tonight‘s Deidre Beharon.
‘People get tired of people, especially in today’s age.’
The star’s comments follow her recent return to stand up comedy, with a successful Netflix special.
‘It was just kind of suggested to me and I was like, “Well, maybe so. Maybe that would be something to challenge me,” she explains of the career move.
