Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have arrived in the UK on a mystery visit – with some speculating they may be there to see Meghan Markle and baby Archie. But if the couple were hoping to dispel rumours of marital issues with the apparent vacation, they didn’t succeed – with the sometimes seemingly frosty body language between the pair raising eyebrows.

The couple indulged in a helicopter ride while visiting London, with Ellen looking decidedly grumpy at some points as she apparently urged her lagging wife to catch up.
‘Ellen had a scowl on her face at various points,’ says an onlooker. ‘She seemed to have a bit of a cloud over her head.’
Ellen , who was one of the first to publicly congratulate Meghan on the arrival of Archie, has been busy with work, and it remains unknown if the UK visit was business or pleasure.
The outing comes amid renewed attention on the couple’s marriage. Portia has even referenced the talk in a recent interview.
‘The divorce rumors came and then we really knew the perceptions had changed,’ Portia last week acknowledged to Us Weekly magazine.
The comment comes amid reports that the duo are ‘barely on speaking terms’ and are ‘fighting more than ever’.
‘They are pretty much living separate lives,’ a source told US publication Life & Style.
Reportedly at the root of their problems is Hollywood star Ellen’s ‘jealousy’ over Portia’s career focus which has taken centre stage for the actress.
The publication claims that Ellen is ‘incredibly demanding’ and it’s ‘tearing the couple apart.’
‘When Portia is working she has to put her phone on silent because Ellen calls constantly,’ the source adds.
‘She’s determined to keep track of Portia’s every move and will complain if she’s home late and question what she’s done throughout the day’
In fact, according to the source there ‘have been times Portia has asked Ellen to leave the house.’
The couple recently sold their beachfront LA home – which some are pointing to as evidence of marital discord. However, Ellen is a repeat house flipper, and enjoys doing up and selling homes.
The couple insist they have never been happier, and there are no plans for a divorce.
