Channel Ten has given us our first look at NRL legend Beau Ryan as the host of The Amazing Race, with excited fans taking to the comment section to express their delight over the choice.
Back in June, Network Ten announced they would be bringing back hit reality TV show The Amazing Race after a five-year hiatus, and instead of being hosted by an actor, former Cronulla Sharks Rugby league star Beau Ryan will be guiding the teams around the world.
The Amazing Race used to be on Channel Seven and was wrapped after season three in 2014.

The Amazing Race’s official Instagram account shared a photo of Beau Ryan, along with the caption: “While we work on getting the race started, here’s a pic of our host.”
“The right man for the job,” wrote one excited fan.

Although Beau is first and foremost a sportsman, he is no stranger to television. The retired footy legend first appeared on The Footy Show and was known for his comedic work, before the NRL Footy Show was axed in 2018.
Speaking about his upcoming gig, Ryan revealed he was ‘pumped’ to host the extreme reality TV game show.
“I’m really pumped to be hosting one of the biggest franchises on Australian TV. I jumped at the chance to combine two of my favourite things, people and travel. I can’t wait to get started. May the best team win,” Ryan told Mumbrella.
Eureka Television’s – the production company that is behind the new Amazing Race – CEO Paul Franklin revealed he felt ‘honoured’ to be bringing back the hit show.
“It’s one of the truly original and iconic shows of all time and it’s an honour and a privilege to be working with Network 10 in putting the Australian spin on such an incredible format. An international rollercoaster ride of a show with a big heart, this series will be one that the whole family can enjoy.”
