Rumours of a rift between royal brothers Prince William and Prince Harry have been swirling for some time.
And, Harry all but confirmed the rumours in a recent ITV documentary, that followed the prince and his wife Meghan during their tour of Africa.
When asked about the rumours of a rift, Harry did little to dispel them admitting that he and William have “good days and bad days.”
“Part of this role and part of this job and part of this family being under the pressure that it’s under, inevitably, stuff happens,” he said.
“But look: We’re brothers, we’ll always be brothers — and we’re certainly on different paths at the moment. But I’ll certainly always be there for him as I know he’ll always be there for me.”
Now, royal commentator Angela Mollard has revealed what really went down between the brothers.
“To say we are on different paths is tantamount to saying we basically don’t speak to each other. I have a theory on what’s happened there,” Angela reveals on New Idea’s podcast Royals.
“William spent a long time deciding that he was going to marry Kate… Probably what he did say to Harry was something along the lines of ‘are you sure?’
“It was not unreasonable for William to say, ‘have you thought about this, should you wait longer?’”
While Angela suggests that William was just looking out for his little brother, Harry may have not seen it that way.
“Clearly what’s happened, Harry in the same way as he is quite reactive with the press and quite reactive in certain situations was probably very reactive with William and doubtless went back to Meghan and said ‘you won’t believe what William said to me,’” she suggests.
“Instead of seeing it as a well-meaning and caring enquiry, they both have obviously got their backs up and now there’s friction between them.”
Of course, like most royal fans, Angela is hoping that these two brothers can work out their issues.
“What they need is each other all they have is each other,” she says. “I hope that they find a way back to each other.”
