While the day was largely centred around Prince William and Kate Middleton’s sporting rivalry, it was little Charlotte who stole the show!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went head to head in the inaugural sailing regatta in an exciting race off Cowes, but it was the prize-giving ceremony that was the most entertaining to watch as Princess Charlotte couldn’t resist sticking her tongue out at onlookers, much to the amusement of her mother.

Grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton were also on hand to help keep an eye on the children as William and Kate took to the waves.

Prince George looked cute as a button in a Breton-striped top, and even wore a sailor’s hat for part of the regatta, while Charlotte wore a striped blue dress.

Kate and Wills were competing against each other all in the name of charity, with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge skippering their own boats of six celebrity ambassadors.

It was TV personality Bear Grylls and his crew that took home the golden trophy, leaving Kate with a giant wooden spoon for her efforts on the waves.

Although each of the celebrities was representing their own charities, Kate sailed for the Royal Foundation while William battled it out for Child Bereavement UK.
