Prince Harry celebrated his 36th birthday on September 15 with wife Meghan and baby Archie at their lavish million-dollar mansion in upscale Montecito, Santa Barbara.

While the day technically isn’t a milestone, it is significant nonetheless – given that it marks the first birthday since Harry made his dramatic departure from the Royal family.
To celebrate the occasion, New Idea has round up a collection of rare photographs of a much younger Harry at his posh secondary school in the UK.

The snaps show the young royal – who is sixth in line to the throne – engaged in a series of everyday chores while a student at the esteemed Eton College.
In one of the snaps, Harry – who is of course without of any of his now-trademark facial hair – sits at a desk in his dormitory bedroom on campus.

Within limits, students were allowed to decorate their room themselves and Harry had – unsurprisingly for the time – a stereo music system.
On his walls were posters and on his desk was a photograph of his mother, Princess Diana, in a black frame.
Pinned on his notice board was a photo of Harry with his mother and also a photo of his father, Prince Charles.

After the royal’s dorm room photos surfaced online back in 2018, there was one celeb who couldn’t help but take a hilarious jibe at his childhood posters.
Hollywood actress Halle Berry, 52, took to Twitter to poke fun at Harry’s decoration, featuring herself.
“Ok #PrinceHarry, I see you,” she teased, zooming in on the tapestry snapshot. She also added lyrics from Missy Elliott’s track Work It.

The series of photos were originally released ahead of the prince completing his studies at Eton.
In another adorable snap, the young prince poses for a photo while playing with two adorable dogs.
The pups – named Rosie and Jenny – were reportedly owned by Andrew Gailey, the Housemaster at Manor House, Eton.

In another candid snap, the young prince appears to be making toast in the House Kitchen, with the shot capturing the sliced bread as it pops from the toaster.
The kitchen was reserved for Senior House Prefects and Harry, as Captain of Games, was one.

In another snap, taken in March 2003, Harry shows off his trademark humour by putting his arm around a wooden skeleton and posing in the Drawing Room at Eton.
A follow-up photo shows the Queen’s grandson pose next to a bronze statue of Perseus holding the Gorgon’s head.
Harry also appears in a candid snap, which shows him polishing the army boots he wore while taking part in the military Combined Cadet Force.

It would be another three years – in April 2006 – before Harry would complete his officer training and be commissioned as a Cornet (second lieutenant) in the Blues and Royals, a regiment of the Household Cavalry in the British Army.
Twelve years after that, the not-so-young prince tied the knot with Meghan Markle in a beautiful fairy tale ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Despite finding their “happily ever after”, Harry and Meghan officially resigned from the royal family and stopped using their titles in April, 2020.
