As the world eagerly awaits news on the birth of Meghan Markle’s first child, some are questioning whether the Duchess has already has the child. And there are some pretty compelling numbers that make the case she’s already had the baby.

When the couple first announced the news of her pregnancy in October, it’s reliably estimated that she would have been 12 weeks, so Meghan would be about 42 weeks pregnant now, meaning she is two weeks past her due date – and most doctors would advise a woman to be medically induced around this time.
According to government health guidelines: “Whilst there are benefits for waiting for labour to start naturally it is recommended that induction of labour occurs before 42 weeks gestation.”
Meghan and Harry also announced in a statement that they would be keeping the news private. “Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the statement read.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
When the statement was released, many believed it was a sign that Meghan had already given birth.
According to reports Meghan went on maternity leave on March 20. When Kate went on maternity leave around on March 22 last year she gave birth on April 23.
Other clues that Meghan may have already given birth include the arrival of Daniel Martin, the child’s godfather and the Duchess’ close friend and makeup artist as well as Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
The couple have also thanked the public for donating money to charities instead of sending gifts to the baby, writing ‘Whether a $5 donation, £1000 contribution, offering to volunteer, or spreading the word, you’ve played your part.’
The message was signed, ‘The Duke and Duchess (and Baby Sussex)’.
