Kensington Palace confirmed that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will move out of their modest cottage on the grounds of Kensington palace into lush new digs in Windsor.

The couple, who were gifted the home by The Queen are expected to move in next year.

But, the 19th century home, which has reportedly fallen into disrepair, will need extensive renovations before the couple relocate – however exactly what they are having done is going to be a closely guarded secret.

Planning applications have reportedly been lodged with the council. Normally applications are available to the public, however in the case of Meghan and Harry’s new home, documents including plans and architect drawings will be sealed due to security concerns, The Sun claims.

“The application contains sensitive information and therefore the public register is not accompanied by any forms, drawings or supporting documents,” a note on their application read.

“The application will be advertised in the unusual way but there is no additional information that is publicly disclosable.”

What’s more, the cost of the renovation is also set to be kept a secret. The work which is expected to rack up a large bill will be covered by the Sovereign Grant.

But, any work inside the home is expected to be paid for by Meghan and Harry themselves.
