While Kate Middleton may have been all smiles during her appearance at Wimbledon with sister-in-law Meghan Markle, just one day later it was a rather different story between the duchess and husband Prince William.

The couple appeared tense as they made a joint appearance to watch the men’s singles final.
It’s been a difficult time for Kate and William, following allegations of the duke’s infidelity with former model Rose Hanbury, a once close friend of the royal couple. Both the Cambridges, along with Rose and her husband David Rocksavage, have denied the claims.
Despite rumours of a rift, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex were all smiles as they put on a united front last week to watch Serena Williams crash out of Wimbledon in the women’s singles final.
Clearly determined to put whispers of a feud to bed, the ‘duelling duchesses’ happily chatted as they took their seats in the royal box. Dressed in a crisp white shirt and pleated Hugo Boss skirt, new mum Meghan sat between Kate, who sported a green Dolce & Gabbana dress she’d previously worn during her 2016 tour of Canada, and Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton.
However, despite the friendly appearance, at one point the women seemed to let their guard down and had a heated exchange of words, which left Kate in tears and she had to leave briefly to compose herself.
There was talk that Meghan was very honest that she was only there because the Queen requested it and wasn’t even prepared to try and make it work.
“Meghan knows exactly how to push Kate’s buttons and how to wind her up and dig at the exact right spots to get a reaction in a very passive aggressive way, which Kate’s even described as incredibly clever, too, as she does it so subtly but so manipulatively,” says a royal source.
“Kate tries to put on a brave face and plaster a smile at all times, but that time, she feared she may burst into tears and knew it would be a disaster if she displayed her emotions so she said it was best to excuse herself.”
