With so much speculation surrounding the Sussexes and the Cambridges and their royal rift, a royal expert has added fuel to the fire, claiming there was “truth” in the rumours.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and Prince William and Kate Middleton, chose not to appear together at public engagements at the height of the speculation around the royal feud.
Initially Meghan and Kate were blamed for the bad blood, before stories of a disagreement brothers William and Harry emerged.
Now royal expert and author Robert Jobson has suggested the two princes and their wives kept the Palace from intervening to avoid being forced taking part in public events together.
Speaking to Yahoo Royal Box, Robert said: “I think the principals at that time wouldn’t have done it, that’s the point. Harry, Meghan Kate – there was something to the story, that’s the point.
“You can create an image and they tried to do that at Christmas, with them all walking along but actually, then you had people looking and they looked a little stiff amongst each other.
“Whereas the previous year, you had that photograph of them walking along happy as Larry and they were described as the ‘Fab Four’ and everything was wonderful.”
Mr Jobson also suggested trying to diverge attention from a potential feud would have been difficult for Palace staff: “I know I said that could have PR’d it better but it’s very hard for the PR professionals – you’ve to the people behaving a certain way to make it look like they’re not [arguing].”
PR expert Nick Ede echoed the assessment in the interview, agreeing body language experts would have been able to see through attempts to play down the alleged feud.
“It can look very contrived and then you get the body language experts who see right through it,” he explained.
“They could have killed these stories pretty quickly and they could have made it much sharper.
“Even just getting them all out together on some kind of event and having them all out together, laughing and smiling. Seize that moment. They didn’t actually think, ‘actually, let’s just do something that makes you into a cohesive whole again.’ They didn’t.”
With Meghan set to give birth any day now, perhaps Will and Kate’s recent visit to Harry and Meghan at Frogmore Cottage was a peace offering and a way of clearing the air before the new royal arrival.
