It’s been a whirlwind few months for Married At First Sight’s Cheryl Maitland but earlier this week she revealed she’d found love after the show with new boyfriend Dean Gibbs.
However once Cheryl revealed who her new man was, his criminal past came to light. A former police officer, Dean was sentenced to 12 months in jail for 2014 for trafficking cocaine and fined $300 for possessing drugs.
Dean has hit back against the claims, sharing a post to Instagram.
‘The couples that are meant to be, are the ones that go through everything that is meant to tear them apart, and come out even stronger…This girl,’ Dean captioned a new loved-up couple shot, tagging Cheryl.
Cheryl quickly affirmed her love by commenting on the loved up photo.
‘Can you stop being saaaa cute. Actually don’t stop,’ she commented.
Further to this declaration of love, Cheryl attempted to shut down the haters by reading out a telling meme to her Instagram story.
‘I think it needs to be said that everyone is their own person and can do as they please and if it has no direct impact on your life then shut the f*** up and keep your opinions to yourself.’
