When fast food giant KFC offered $15,000 to any parents who named their child after their face of the brand Colonel Sanders, it appeared unlikely that anyone would stick their hand up.
Yet there were quite a few takers who were willing to take on the name Harland, the name of the man behind the fast food chain.
Of course, each applicant had to share the same birthday as Harland and be born on September 9.

On Tuesday, KFC announced that the winner of the competition and the $15,000 prize money was a stunning little girl who was named Harland Rose.
They shared the news in a tweet with Colonel Sanders announcing: “I’m as pleased as pumpkin punch to announce the winner of our Baby Harland Naming Contest and the Harland who will be ushering in an all-new generation of Harlands, little Harland Rose.”
Let’s hope little Harland likes her name when she grows up!
