He won hearts across Australia when he scored the first kiss from Sophie Monk after making a great impression and behaving like the perfect gentleman.
But since their death-defying first date, Jarrod Woodgate, 31, has been dubbed ‘obsessive and clingy’ after his bizarre on-screen jealously.
Now his ex-girlfriend Amy has exclusively revealed to New Idea what it’s really like to date the vineyard manager and why Sophie should think very carefully before she makes her final decision.
‘He has seen something he wants and is going for it,’ Amy spills. ‘He couldn’t give a damn about fame and fortune. Everyone wants to fall in love and be happy with that special someone, and he deserves it.’
But with him serving in the army and based in Queensland, the distance eventually proved too much and the couple ended their relationship.
While Amy was initially surprised to see him looking for love on this season’s show, she has no doubt her confident ex will make the perfect husband for Sophie.
‘He’s a man, not a boy. He has his life set up and he’s a catch,’ she says. ‘Jarrod will be an amazing, supportive and loving husband, and she’s a no-frills kind of girl who is genuinely looking for someone to spend her life with, and I know Jarrod wants the same.’
