A woman who encouraged her boyfriend to commit suicide over text has asked the victim’s parents if she can take things from his room, and even some of his ashes.
20-year-old Michelle Carter was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after her then-boyfriend killed himself after receiving a string of horrific text messages encouraging him to get on with it.
Conrad Roy III was found dead in his car from carbon monoxide poisoning, his phone contained hundreds of messages telling him to kill himself, including to ‘get back in’ the car.
Now, ABC News reports that the victim’s aunt, Kim Bozzi, says Carter had contacted the family after Roy’s death asking the unthinkable.
‘She wanted to go through his room and take some of his belongings,’ Bozzi said. She also said Carter has asked if she could have some of Roy’s ashes.
‘That’s when things started to get a little weird. Yeah, you don’t do that.’
Bozzi also says she was disappointed at the short prison sentence Carter was given, hoping instead for a 20-year-sentence.
‘I think if it wasn’t for her, he’d still be here.’
