Former WAG Abby Gilmore denies taking swipe at her ex

She hit back after reports surfaced on THAT post

Former AFL WAG Abby Gilmore has defended herself after publications reported her Instagram Story posts about the Brownlow Awards were a swipe at her ex-fiancé Jake Stringer.

During the awards on September 24, Abbi posted a throwback image of herself on the Brownlow red carpet back in 2015 and added a caption that read, “Just your yearly reminder that I was fortunate enough to attend once.. I walked in match the table cloths and never got to redeem myself ever again.”

The 25-year-old later also shared a video in which she declared that she wanted to “get in the car and go buy chocolate” because she needed it “that badly.”

On Tuesday, the Daily Mail published a story about Abby in which it claimed that she took “a swipe at her ex”.

After Abby saw the article on Facebook, she posted a screenshot to her Instagram Story alongside a caption that read, “Get a life!! How on EARCH did I do that!? Please don’t read their rubbish. VERY slow news day. I bloody loved my experience at the Brownlow, I just happened to match the table cloth. I don’t believe I even mentioned anyone other than myself.”

Alongside the caption she posted three emojis – a face-palm, a shrug, and an emoji crying with laughter.

She also shared to her story a screenshot of a conversation between herself and her 28-year-old boyfriend Leighroy, which showed that he was excited to have been mentioned in the article. She wrote a caption of, “Hahahaha he was pretty happy with the mention,” across the image.

Abby and Leighroy began dating in September 2017, just seven months after Abby and Jake announced their separation.

Abby shares two daughters with Jake: Milla, 4, and Arlo, 2.

She claimed that she had just given birth to their second daughter when she discovered that Jake was cheating on her.

Last September, she opened up to the Herald Sun and revealed that she was left feeling shattered after a 17-year-old sent her a text claiming that she was having an affair with the AFL player.
