Before Alyce embarked on her challenge, she gorged on huge portions and would snack constantly.

“I loved chocolate and would often snack on it throughout the day. I’d also snack or eat and not know when to stop,” Alyce confessed.

“My portions were crazy or I’d go back for seconds” she adds.

But Alyce got to a point where her habits were starting to have an impact on her health.

“I was in a stage in my life where I was very down. I was tired, sluggish and didn’t really have a lot of drive or motivation in my life. I had gone through the grief and heartbreak of my Dad passing away. Stress was impacting my life emotionally and physically. I was tired all the time. I had no energy. And on top of that I wasn’t 100 per cent happy with how I looked,” she said.

“I had always been relatively healthy and active for most of my life. But the stress and grief of losing my Dad had really affected me. I ate relatively well but my portions were way too big. The weight crept on and the scale went up. I became tired, unhappy and felt stuck in a rut. I avoided full length photos and wore loose fitting clothes most of the time. I became good at hiding how much weight I had put on,” Alyce adds.

The catalyst came when Alyce came back from a trip to Europe and looked at a few of the photos she had taken there and realised just how far she had let things go.

“I couldn’t help but notice that my arms and legs were the biggest they’ve been. From that point I tried to eat healthy on my own, but nothing seemed to work. Then one night while looking in the mirror I became so frustrated that I was not seeing any change. I was so over my own excuses and realised enough is enough. I decided this time it would be different. From that point onward I decided to commit to my weight loss goal – no excuses,” Alyce confessed.

Next Alyce enrolled in a 16-week Isa body transformation program and followed a nutritional cleansing program and within her first 16 weeks she lost 10kgs.

“I have since completed the challenge another 2 times (3 times total) to tone up, trim down further to where I am happy now and have lost a total of 15kgs and 3 dress sizes. I had tried so long to reach 60kgs by myself and thanks to nutritional cleansing I was able to do that,” Alyce adds.

“And after completing the challenge and cleansing program my cravings have changed. I still enjoy life and have a treat or two every now and again – but I know when to stop now and don’t go overboard. It’s all about a life style and finding balance. Life is meant to be enjoyed. But I listen to my body, I fuel it with good nutrition and know what it needs now,” Alyce says.

Now, Alyce maintains her weight by eating a low carb, high protein diet and doing Pilates 4-5 times a week and HIIT and weight training four times a week.

“When I was 15kgs heavier I had terrible back pain and was in a world of pain. I avoided doing certain things and dimmed my light. Now I feel like I’m back to my normal, energetic, active and up-for-anything self,” Alyce says.
