MasterChef Australia has served up some of the country’s best home cooks from the get-go, but as the show’s 13th season progresses fans will watch their favourites either dish their last meal or take on the winning crown.

Judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen have previously said that this year’s contestants are the best yet.
“I think we’re very short into the season but if these guys are cooking like this now, imagine what they’re going to be doing in 60 episodes. It’s crazy so we’re excited with that,” Andy admitted to WHO on the red carpet at the 2020 AACTA Awards.
The judge and season four winner added: “They’re raw, they’re very passionate, they’re very willing to learn and I think that’s what I think excites us the most. It’s going to be a really good season.”
Contestants will compete under the pressure cooker in a series of challenges and different cuisines and cooking styles, with one lucky chef taking home the main course prize of $250,000.
So, here’s everyone who has left the competition so far.

Trent Vu
Trent was the first contestant to be eliminated after his chicken dish failed to impress the judges.
“I’m sorry, Trent. Unfortunately, your chicken, it was completely overpowered by the lemon myrtle in the dish,” said judge Melissa.
Despite leaving the show early on, Trent isn’t giving up on his food dreams and hopes to continue to break into food media.

YoYo Yang
19-year-old YoYo was the youngest competitor of the season, but things began to slip away from her when her meringue didn’t hold its shape and her rhubarb was undercooked.
“I’m so sorry, but you are leaving us today. It’s such a shame, but the food world is at your doorstep,” judge Melissa said.

Katrina Dunnett
After an intense bread-focused challenge, Katrina’s bread and butter pudding with an orange twist had the judges questioning if her dessert was “bread forward” enough.
With three strong dishes to compete against, Katrina’s inability to bring out enough bread flavour saw her announced as the third contestant eliminated from the MasterChef kitchen.

Minoli DeSilva
Her time in the MasterChef kitchen ended after her sous vide steak with yuzu dressing and pickles failed to impress the judges.
She ultimately found herself in the bottom four, and became the fourth contestant to be sent home.
But, Minoli secured her way back into the competition after Second Chance Week, which saw two spots open up for all the contestants who had been eliminated.
Although, Minoli was eliminated for a second time, after plating up green mango noodles in her south east Asian broth.

Maja Veit
In a challenge that offered a choice between a sweet or savoury dish to cook, the contestants were thrown off after they had made their decisions, when judge Jock switched them out.
And unfortunately for Maja, it was her failed attempt at the sweet tart that meant the end to her time in the MasterChef kitchen.
However, Maja earned back her apron and her spot in the MasterChef competition, after she was successful in the “returning eliminated contestants” stage, but her return in the kitchen was short-lived after she was eliminated for a second time.

Wynona Davies
In a challenge where the contestants had to create a dish inspired by a classic food saying, Wynona chose “Cool As A Cucumber” and decided to make a Confit Salmon with Ginger Broth, Noodles and Pickled Cucumbers.
The judges felt that she didn’t quite meet the brief for the challenge with her dish, and she was ultimately sent home.

Therese Lum
In what is undoubtedly one of the most shocking eliminations from the MasterChef kitchen so far, is that of ‘Dessert Queen’ Therese, who wowed the judges from the very beginning.
So much so, that she scored herself an Immunity Pin, which is the biggest advantage in the competition. But it was her refusal to play the pin that saw the fan favourite leave the competition.

Conor Curran
It was the final day of Masters Week and the contestants needed to impress in a two-round elimination challenge.
But the judges found Conor’s green olive ice cream to be “grainy” and “lumpy”, and it sent him home from the MasterChef kitchen.

Jess Hodge
After going head-to-head in the toughest MasterChef challenge yet, the relay elimination round placed Jess in round two, where her apple streusel had the judges feeling “confused” by the dish, and she was sent home.
“I just want cake and ice-cream,” judge Andy said.

Eric Mao
After failing to get a clear idea of how he could approach the invention test, Eric was sent through to battle it out in a pressure test.
Things took a turn for Eric when he removed the entire fat cap off his lamb while trying to take the skin off, leaving him with only one piece of lamb. And unfortunately, Eric was sent home from the competition.

Tom Levick
In an elimination round where it was all about game meats, Tom chose to cook with crocodile, but soon realised he bit more than he could chew after he couldn’t figure out how to properly cook the meat.
The cook saw him eliminated from MasterChef – but, in a surprise twist, Tom and all the other eliminated contestant from this season will return to the kitchen to fight for one in two spots to stay in the competition.

Dan Dumbrell
Dan’s time in the MasterChef kitchen came to an end after he and the other contestants were challenged to use one Murray Cod to create three dishes across a possible three rounds.
And, it was his failure to use all parts of the fish that saw Dan sent home from the MasterChef kitchen.

Amir Manoly
While the judges liked the flavours of his dish, it was a burnt beetroot that saw Amir as the thirteenth contestant eliminated from MasterChef.

Brent Draper
He was one of this year’s favourites in MasterChef Australia, but Brent withdrew himself from the competition due to concerns over his mental health.
“Every single person in this kitchen is so proud of you,” judge Jock said as he and the other judges, as well as the rest of the contestants, bid Brent an emotional farewell.

Aaron Sanders
Just missing out on his place in the top 10, Aaron was sent home after plating up coconut fried prawns with lime mayonnaise.

Scott Bagnell
In a double elimination round, Scott’s dish failed to hero horseradish, and paired with his overcooked mirror dory, he was unfortunately sent home from the competition.

Depinder Chhibber
She’d been a strong contender from the very beginning, but it was Depinder’s inability to hero indigenous ingredients that saw her leave the competition.

Tommy Pham
Ahead of finals week in the competition, Tommy unfortunately didn’t make the cut after he plated up a fancy version of Bún Bò Huế.
The cook of his steak let him down, with the judges having said it was slightly under, and in an emotional on-screen moment, Tommy was sent home from MasterChef Australia.

Sabina Newton
After scoring a spot in the top six and making it through to finals week, Sabina was eliminated after a difficult fine dining service challenge.

Linda Dalrymple
Linda just missed out on a place in the top four of MasterChef Australia, after she was eliminated following a challenging pressure test.

Elise Pulbrook
In a challenge where the cooks had to create a three-course menu for the judges and 20 guests, Elise just missed out on making it to MasterChef Australia’s Grand Finale after she was eliminated from the competition.
