MAFS Clare Verrall has theory on the Bachelor’s Cass situation

Poor Cassie.

She has starred on a reality show herself, and now Married At First Sight’s Clare Verrall has a theory on why Cass Wood was kept around on The Bachelor for so long before getting her heartbroken and sent home this week.

23-year-old Cass, who casually dated Nick Cummins before the show, was completely open about her strong feelings for the Honey Badger throughout the entire season of the show, leading her to the top four.

But the rugby star has faced public backlash for keeping Cass around for so long when he didn’t see a future with her.

Now MAFS‘ star Clare has taken to Instagram to explain her theory on why the model made it so far.

‘I have thoughts on this whole Cassie-being-sent-home thing. Standard. I have an opinion, okay?,’ she started.

‘My theory [is] the producers would have insisted that he kept Cassie around because they dated in the past and they wanted to ensure he didn’t come across as a prick. So I’m sure that is what happened.’

She continued,'[The producers] got a young 23-year-old girl who actually thought this was going to be her love story and utterly manipulated her. And it makes me angry.

‘So beautiful Cass, I hope you are well. I hope they are looking after you. You deserved so much more than this and you will find your One.’

Speaking to New Idea after her heartbreaking elimination, Cass opened up about the devastating moment.

I think walking away from it I finally got an answer, which was that he didn’t see himself with me. As much as that was heartbreaking, I got an answer.’
