Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning to put down roots in Australia for the sake of their young family, it’s being reported today.
US OK! magazine says the couple have been discussing the move for some time, with the 38-year-old singer most keen on a permanent move.
While Nicole, 35, was until recently said to be dragging her feet, she’s reportedly agreed to divide her time between LA and Australia after they find a property Down Under.
It was not indicated which city the couple may choose to live, but Joel is well acquainted with Sydney, following his stint on The Voice Australia, which ended in 2016.
“Joel loves the lifestyle in Australia,” an insider is quoted as saying. “But Nicole is born-and-bred L.A. She’s not sure she can make the move.”
It was added, “The plan is to buy a property there and stay for weeks at a time as a kind of test run.
“If things go smoothly, she’ll consider a move. Nicole admits that it would be nice to raise their kids outside of LA, since she got into so much trouble growing up there, but that’s where her work and family are based.”
