Former Home and Away star Christie Hayes says she lived with her estranged husband for almost two years after their split.
The actress said the decision was made with then husband Daniel White, so their sons could adjust to their split.
The 32-year-old, who shares two sons – Hendrix, four, and Harley, three, with Daniel – claims it was ‘liberating’ to finally go public with their split.
‘It was the most liberating feeling when I finally came out because the reality is that Daniel and I slept in separate beds,’ she told Stellar magazine.
‘While I think that’s a noble thing to do for a certain amount of time, I don’t think there’s any glory in just staying together… I have nothing but love, he does for me also,’ she added.
Christie took to Instagram to announce her split from Daniel on Instagram in April this year.
‘Sorry I have been a bit AWOL the last few months, I’ve had a lot of welcome changes!’ she wrote.
‘Daniel and I went our separate ways quite a while back now (we were strictly flatmates in every way for over a year and a half, and ladies you have to know your worth and not settle for anything less than happiness!)’
The post concluded: ‘But the boys are both our priority and I can’t wait to keep all the amazing things coming this year! Xx.’
